About your host
Avijja Fonseka is one of the island’s most knowledge and articulate individuals who have an intimate knowledge of Sri Lanka’s wilderness and biodiversity. Turning a childhood love for the jungle into a fulfilling career, he has accumulated years of invaluable experience of traversing the wilds in academic, research, and commercial contexts. Avijja’s warm and lively personality and knack for storytelling makes him an engaging host over long-stays in the jungle. He also leads photographic safaris to India and Africa.
The host’s vast guiding experience plays a critical role in helping guests learn about animals and interpreting behavior as well, which helps immensely with developing the knack of predicting their next move to capture that perfect photograph.
