Frequently Asked Questions

Sri Lanka has reopened for foreign travellers with a renewed sense of hope and anticipation, with open arms and open hearts.

The health and safety protocols have been designed to ensure your safety and the safety of the local community.

Working on a “secure bubble” concept, foreign visitors can stay at selected certified hotels using the full facilities of the hotel and can stay in more than one hotel. These hotels are not permitted to accommodate local guests at the same time.

Whilst mixing with local communities outside the hotel is not permitted, selected tourist sites are available to visit.

There is no minimum stay period. If one chooses to remain in Sri Lanka for an extended period or a returning foreign resident, a 14 day stay in a certified hotel is required before leaving the “secure bubble” and mixing freely with the local community.

All three Resplendent Ceylon resorts – Tea Trails, Wild Coast Tented Lodge and Cape Weligama are certified for foreign travellers.

In addition to the Sri Lanka Tourism certification, our SafeStay protocols, which have received global recognition, will ensure that you have a stress free stay.

Our commitment to creating meaningful journeys has never been stronger. Our teams have been delivering the usual top-notch service to domestic travellers these past 10 months and are eagerly awaiting your return.

For your convenience, we have compiled a FAQ with common questions. Please note that regulations are subject to change and the latest protocols can be accessed here.

Do reach out to us if you need any further clarification on the topics below.
