Over the past few months, our team has been hard at work on the ground, rolling up our sleeves to support local schools, improve public infrastructure, protect our beautiful coastline, and bring joy to our neighbors.

Here is a look back at how we’ve been partnering with the Ahungalla and Balapitiya communities over the last half-year.

December 2025

We kicked off the holiday season by focusing on the future of our community: the children. The tropical heat can make concentration difficult, so our team stepped in to donate and install brand-new ceiling fans at the Nava Adarsha Preschool in Ahungalla. Now, the classroom is a cool and comfortable environment. 

January 2026

We turned our attention to a vital local transit hub. Ahu Bay funded and managed the installation of a brand-new ceiling at the Station Master’s Office and Ticket Counter room at the Ahungalla Railway Station. This upgrade has created a much more welcoming and safe environment for both the hardworking railway staff and the daily commuters.

March 2026

March brings cricket fever to Sri Lanka, and we weren’t about to miss out on the excitement! To support the historic rivalry and camaraderie of the annual big match between Ahungalla Rajapaksha School and Madampa Central College Ambalangoda, Ahu Bay provided delicious evening snacks for the students and participants. It was an honor to fuel the team spirit and celebrate this cherished local tradition.

April 2026

To celebrate Earth Day this year, the Ahu Bay team led a comprehensive beach cleanup along our beautiful coastline. But we didn’t stop at just picking up litter; we also conducted a Zero Waste awareness training session for community members, sharing practical tips on reducing plastic reliance and preserving our marine ecosystem for generations to come.

May 2026

our team visited the Balapitiya Anula Wijerama Children’s Home to offer care and solidarity to the resident girls. We donated essential sanitary items, toiletries, and personal care kits to ensure the girls have everything they need for their health, comfort, and well-being. Spending time with these bright young women was a deeply moving experience for our entire staff.

May 2026

With the Vesak festival approaching, a time of deep spiritual reflection and community gathering, Ahu Bay joined hands with locals for a major cleanup program at the Samudhraramaya Temple. Together, we swept, washed, and prepared the temple grounds, ensuring a serene and beautiful space for devotees to gather, pray, and celebrate the blessed occasion.

Every initiative we undertake is fueled by the warmth and resilience of the people of Ahungalla. We are incredibly grateful to our guests, whose support allows us to invest back into this beautiful region.
