From Our Farms to Your Fork – The Freshness of Ceylon Tea Trails
At Ceylon Tea Trails, we’re deeply committed to providing our guests with the freshest, most flavorful dining experiences while also caring for our planet. That’s why we prioritize homegrown, organic produce and work diligently to reduce food miles.
Food miles refer to the journey food takes from where it’s grown or produced to your plate. The shorter this distance, the lower the environmental impact, as it significantly cuts down on greenhouse gas emissions and the energy used for transportation. By growing a wide variety across all our bungalows, we are reducing our food miles significantly.
Since the beginning of 2025, we’ve already harvested over 700 kilograms of fruits, vegetables, and herbs right here on our property! We achieve this through various regenerative agriculture methods, including the use of greenhouses and hydroponic systems. The harvest from our gardens goes directly into our kitchens, ensuring the highest quality and freshest ingredients for every meal you enjoy. Just a few of the items we grow include rhubarb, cucumber, basil, chives, papaya, and bananas.
Our dedicated engineering and maintenance teams meticulously tend to these gardens, and we warmly invite you to visit any of them at each of our bungalows to see our sustainable practices firsthand.
