Twenty twenty two has certainly been a year of trial and redirection. While optimism never frayed, the ways in which we’ve navigated through multiple crises has strengthened our resolve and kept our spirits alive and burning bright. 

Our resort in the south, Cape Weligama was recognised as #3 among the Top 20 Resorts in Asia and #22 among the 50 Best Resorts in the World at the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for 2022. Our island home also made the Friendliest Countries in the World, Top 48 Countries in the World and Asia Top Islands lists. 

Launched in the United States in 1987, Condé Nast Traveler is a market-leading monthly travel magazine, with nine different international editions today. With its motto of “Truth in Travel”, the publication provides enlightening content on a wide range of topics, including destinations, hotels, food and beverage, airlines as well as fashion, cars, digital and grooming.

The winning streak continued with receiving top place for the Best Pool by the Best of the Best lists in Traveller Australia. Our bungalows in the hills, Ceylon Tea Trails and safari lodge in the wild, Wild Coast Tented Lodge also received nominations amongst the Best Room Service and the Best Transportation (seaplane) categories respectively. Traveller Australia is the travel section of the two top Australia newspapers; the Sydney Morning Herald and the Melbourne Age, published daily and online. 

Wild Coast Tented Lodge was also awarded the Best Overseas Resort Hotel by Luxury Times China and shortlisted by Condé Nast Traveler Middle East under the ‘Favourite Off-The-Grid Destination’ category for 2022.
