Arrack is Sri Lanka’s locally blended spirit. During the days of the Kandyan Kingdom it was the celebratory drink consumed by royalty and elites in the society. In the 18th century the drink was discovered by two business partners (one from England and the other from USA), who turned it into a spirit that rivalled Scotch whiskey.
Through this unique experience you will learn about the origins of arrack, the method and process of the distilling this fine spirit, how it has evolved through the years into delectable blends and finally how it is taking the world alcohol markets by storm. You will be given a flight of different arracks. You will then be offered some local bar culture favorites that will complement the arrack well. Together with your host mixologist you will then start to taste these different blends of arracks whilst learning about the story of this acclaimed spirit.
